Christmas Fiesta at Plenco de México
For the fourth year, students from Instituto San Juan
Pablo II helped make the Plenco de Mexico Christmas
festivities extra special. The children’s choir, led by PdM
employee, Rogelio Sanchez, sang at the Mass held prior to
the annual company party.
The Instituto is located in Jurica, which is a fifteen-
minute drive to the Plenco de Mexico facilities. Children
who attend classes at this school come from homes where
drug or alcohol addiction may be prevalent, as well as from
single parent households.
Plenco de Mexico Human Resources manager, Irene
Montano said, “The school gives them a place to go where
they can see and interact with positive role models. It gives
them leadership and hope for the future.” Many of these
role models are volunteers.
Rogelio Sanchez, Plenco de Mexico Electrical Mainte-
nance supervisor, is one of these volunteers. His love for
music, time and talent is shared with the children of the
Instituto where he has worked with the children’s choir
since 2012.
Rogelio told
PlastiScope21
, “The girls are trying to over-
come their circumstances and do their best. Music gives
them a way to express what they are feeling in their hearts.”
