Six Plenco Employees with Total of 226 Years Retire
After Careers Devoted to Helping Build Company
Plenco Wishes Group Many Enjoyable, Fulfilling Years Ahead
Materials
(Mixer)
David, who retired March 31, 2016, as a Mixer in the Materials Department, thinks the best part
of retirement will be no alarm clocks and doing nothing, although he will miss the wonderful
people he works with at Plenco. He doesn't have any travel plans but looks forward to spending
more time on shooting sports. David worked at Plenco for 32 years.

Resin
(Resin Cook)
Tim retired March 31, 2016, from the Resin Department, where he was a Resin Cook. He had this
to say on his retirement: “Those of you old enough to remember the theme song from the Roy
Rogers TV show of the late 1950s and ‘60s, “Happy Trails,” you too are at, or nearing, retirement
age. That is where I find myself now. About to start the next phase of my life. Retirement.
“I came to Plenco in 1984, not knowing what Plenco made, what their product line was, or much
of anything about the company. All I knew was that I needed a job. At that time I had no way of
knowing that I would spend the rest of my working life here, but sometimes things have a way of
working out for the best. I have found my work here to be challenging, rewarding, and on a few occasions frustrating,
but always changing.
“I would like to thank the Brotz family for the opportunities I have been given. I would like to thank my supervisors,
both past and present, for their leadership. I would like to thank my foremen, both past and present, for their guidance.
I would like to thank my coworkers for their cooperation, for making my job enjoyable, and for the fact that they some-
times made me look better than I really was. So thank you all.
“I would like to share an old Greek proverb that dates back to when Greece was a regional power and not the weak
socialist state that it is today. The proverb reads as follows, “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade
they know they will never sit under.” I plan to plant some trees in my retirement.
“Now the cowboy rides away. Happy trails to one and all.”

Materials
(Materials Engineering Lab Coordinator)
Randy retired March 31, 2016, from the Materials Department, where he was Materials Engineer-
ing Lab Coordinator. He was with Plenco for 43 years. Randy is looking forward to doing things at
a relaxing pace, but with 11 grandchildren, that may not be easy. He will miss his fellow employees
at Plenco, as well as the variety of tasks.
Randy looks forward to traveling the United States and enjoys hunting, fishing and skiing. He
volunteers at Christian camps and teaches children the Awana program in church. Awana is a
global, nonprofit ministry with fully integrated evangelism and long-term discipleship programs
for ages 2 to 18 that actively involves parents and church leaders.
